lyrics

Escape
I can hardly believe that even you came in just to catch the breath of this evicted chest and, already on the pedestal, you packed your bag and started to fly. The rooftops of the city that was never yours were still asleep when I saw you disappear, leaving an empty nest behind, as if embracing the darkness. Why did you have to flee? What did you see to leave like this... I was not expecting anybody in my hellish refuge, when you went below to my flesh and played with a fire you then forgot to extinguish. The scorched earth is the pit where I rest, the night is the wasteland that extends over all the hours of my ceiling. I have to cross it on my own, but I cannot do it alone. How can I tell my eyes they will see you no more?
Screamo, post-rock, and a little black metal meld together for Virginia quartet Infant Island's signature immersive and melancholy sound. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 28, 2020
Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
