lyrics

Surrender
Today I want to surrender, to stop swimming, to drown myself in my glass and tell you that it was the sea. Whatever I write about you hurts and tastes like salt; maybe it's because I can't stop crying my castaway tears that still pool in the suburbs of my mouth and overflow, baptizing everything I say in this cult of defeat. Today I don’t feel capable of getting anything out of the mud that reminds a person. There is no talent in my hands to hold you prisoner anymore. How could I be the masterpiece?, the icon that holds your gaze. If I have nothing... I go back to the leftovers of a yesterday’s verse, to dress in mourning the papers all white.
Screamo, post-rock, and a little black metal meld together for Virginia quartet Infant Island's signature immersive and melancholy sound. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 28, 2020
Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
